This is a known bug.  I've suggested in the past that a script could be
written to parse out the proper options but no one has done that to my
knowledge.  I'd like to make it configurable as to whether a language
has a compiler, linker or both but haven't gotten around to it.

(If someone does come up with a script to do something like this let me
know and I'll put it on the website.)
