WILD CARDS - Where to now? Where would you take a Wild Cards chronicle? The possibilities are endless, with the richness of the world, setting, and characters. It is also open to multiple World of Darkness worldviews and takes on the situation. The Card Shark conspiracy could play a major role. Players could be trying to bust the sharks, as Wild Cards. Conversely, they could *be* Sharks, trying to remove the wild card menace from the Earth. The hunt for the Trump virus, curing the Wild Card, is another possibility. Then, look at the possibilities of playing a supernatural in the Wild Card world. What problems will vampires face with the blood supply? The garou with a more powerful human population? Mages with other powerful humans? Wraiths with the increasing tormented population due to the wild card? How will the Changelings react when others can interact with their reality, or change it? How did the virus really happen? As stated in the books? A mutated Vicissitude virus? A progenitor experiment? Nephandi Magic? Illuminati plot? The Takisians are an umbral race, not aliens, who knows what they are up to? A Sons of Ether mage turned into a rogue Marauder? Tremere ritual gone horribly wrong? A curse from Caine? A government conspiracy inflicted on the population to try and cull certain segments seeing AIDs was not as effective as was hoped? All the above could drastically alter the focus of a Chronicle, particularly if the characters only know the party line to start with, and find out more later on. One day I have to get around to starting a Wild Cards email list :-) Anyway, I'd like to hear your comments and suggestions. If there are enough, version 2 may be forthcoming. Additions to background files I have missed are also always welcome, as well. Please let me know if you use them and how it turns out, if you would. Hearing about your chronicles would be cool. If nearby, let me play in them! :-) I am also interested in hearing about any Wild Cards resources you know of, either on or off line. You can mail me at :- scotrich@isuux.isu.edu rscott@mail.coin.missouri.edu Snail mail and phone number available on request or by fingering the isuux address, I think. Just ask. Special Thanks for this project go to :- Deird'Re "Kali" Brooks for her wod-l list, and for letting me bounce ideas off her and fill up her mailbox with Wild Cards stuff. She had valuable insight and suggestions from the start of the project. Charles "Shiva" Wells for similar feedback at the start of the project. Kyle "Bane" Kohler for helping look up valuable information, especially regardings books 2, 3 and 7 in the first series, and for brainstorming on Yeoman. Rick "The Hulk's buddy" Jones for taking a load off my mind with his Wild Cards info, and his ideas on the Turtle. Timothy "Thanatos" Toner for some general directional prodding and ideas. Mark "coffeeman" Kilfoil for some pedanticism and general editing tips :) Richard "PtP" Dunlap for pointing out some stuff and giving additional info. George R.R. Martin and all the Wild Cards crew for writing such an incredible set of books and for their inspiration to start with. Remember, take all this with the usual caveat, use what you like, or what will work for you, just like all the ST books tell you to. However, I would still be interested in the changes you make.
