From: Carnival From the watcher's note book #45653 Author: Davis, William Quoted as follows: I've been a watcher for about 30 years now. Never have I seen such single mindedness, at least not scence the Kurgan. (see journal #34521 for more information) There have been recent rumours of a condition called the 'dark quickining' noone has been able to document such an occurance until recently. (contact Dawson, Joe for details) However I recently met an immortal who knew the origen of the dark quickinings, he knew who I was and wanted to assist me in my search for knowlage. His name is Julian. He clames to have been a foot solder in the crusades. His commander was a man unable to die. In one point in a battle in Jerusalem, his commander lifted his sword in salute to an apposing general and gave his name. The general did likewise. The two of them faught for a short while and his commander took the head of the general. Julian claims to have died at about this same time. Julian claims that as he lost his grasp on life he could feel the ground itsself will him to live. His eyes opened and his wounds were healed. He accompanied his commander (the only other survivor of the battle) back to their camp. During which time he noticed a marked change in his commanders behavior. The commander severly beat a servent for being a little late with the soup. Julian ran and hid. all the while feeling a strange pull towards his commander. As time progressed he noticed that he could feel a similar pull towards others, but not so strongly as towards his commander. He found out eventually that he was immortal and joined a monastairy, so he would have the time and safety to continue to study his new state of being. He found that something was channeling through him. He had the power to heal others, bless objects and even consecrate land. After 50 years as a monk he had to leave when he felt an incredable pain in his head. His commander was no longer alive. He knew who had taken his commanders head and where they were. He found another monestary he could join, and spent 25 years with them untill the same pain over took him. Scince that time he has been wandering around trying to find the curent subject of the pull. It is his theory that Jerusalem was holy ground and the Dark Quickening was born there. He believes it is his duty to make sure this abomination to nature is wiped out. He has discovered through trial and error that though he can sence others of his kind they cannot scense him unless either in a duel, or on holy ground. None has ever tried to take his head, nor has he ever felt compeled to take anothers. He recently knew of Duncan McCloud when another Dark Quickening took place. This was not the same as the one he has been tracking for all this time. I would like to add that he was the one who came to me. He had intamate knowlage of our organization and spoke of our founder in a personal manner. He seemed to approve of what we are doing but asked that we get the facts of his story right. Document ends. Scince the writting of this William Davis has been removed from field work. He is now in book keeping and reasearch. It is unknown if Julian keeps in contact with William but both are being watched. Gaming info. Julian is singleminded in his approach. He does not care about stealth. If you are his target then he will take your head where ever you are. he is a master with many types of bladed weapon and has the skill to learn more just bu fiddeling with them. He has one addition to the standard skills and backgrounds. he has a true faith of 7. It is believed that all of the patches of holy ground he creates are linked to Jerusalem. and when he finds his target he creates a patch and channels the quickening into the ground. Julian has not yet found his target but is still looking. RP notes: Julian is old. he is also tired of living. he does not care about anything but his goal. he believes that when he is finished with his goal he will die. He prays this is so. Stats: come up with what you think will work well. developer's notes I came up with this idea after the recent story arc on highlander about the dark quickening. at one point Duncan almost took methos' head on holy ground. that's where this idea came from. feel free to use, fold, spindel, mutalate however you see fit. if you have ideas on how this may be improved feel free to do so. the only thing I ask is that you share your ideas with me.
