His clothes are generally dirty. Roleplaying Notes: Erik spent most of his life alone and has only recently discovered what he is. He firmly believes that can make a difference. He hates the poluted cities and avoids them whenever possible. Background: Erik was born in Western Massachusetts in 1976. His parents were original from Germany and had him learn the language. But his relationship with them was tense at best. They fought frequently especially after moving to Manhattan. He hated the city and became angry at his parents for bringing him there. In Massachusetts he'd wander in the woods for hours at peace with the wild. Manhatten had no peace, only noise and pollution. At the age of 14, the newspaper carried a story about a commune of naturalists living upstate. "An experimental community," the article called it. Reading through it, it sounded like just what he needed. He left that night. 200 miles was more of a hike than he had planned on. Erik's food ran out and he became tired. He was angry, frustrated... and then the change. He took crinos and frenzied. He killed and ate a badger. When the frenzy subsided, Erik realized that he could force the change to the man-bear. When he reached the commune, his stay was brief. He learned about survival, he learned about how to help the injured...and then he learned the truth. At the commune he met Rocks-under-water, Children of Gaia Theurge. She saw Erik transform into Crinos. She knew of the Gurahl but had heard they had been destroyed. She helped him and taught him what she could. But ultimately she could not teach him the answer he needed, the truth of what he is. She showed him the Umbra but he lacks the ability to enter it himself. Erik remains in touch with Rocks-under-water in case she hears anything about other Gurahl.
