The Story Thus Far: If you well recall, the game started in the quaint town of Ganor, a walled mining town who was unfortunate enough to be plagued with problems elicited by a nearby band of goblins. You were contracted by the town to investigate and get rid of the goblins by a seedy man whom you later discovered to be under the control of the goblins themselves, via a magical ring created by an enchanter from the times of the Goblin Wars several hundred years ago (see Goblin Wars article for more information). The plot of the goblins to take Lord Dramiis hostage and enslave the town failed when you eliminated their outpost (an abandoned tower half a mile outside of Ganor). Inside the tower you gained knowledge of a bard from many years pre-Goblin Wars era, who had set up a challenge for young burgeoning adventurers like yourselves. Dalint the Trixter created the challenge and you set out to Tenor's Tomb per Dalint's instructions and succeeded entrance to the challenge. After a long arduous trip you were blessed with the spoils of a single chest of gold, silver and copper. The goblins however were not finished with you. On your way home to Ganor, the goblin tribe, The Ettin Skulls, met you in full force at the North-South pass, and coerced you into surrendering (with the help of a couple well placed web spells, and the presence of their very own ettin...). Returning to their main camp within the Grey Peaks, a very inhospitable place, you were imprisoned for a short while before you met with the goblin chief, who explained his sinister plans to you. Luckily you were imprisoned with a swordsman from Alant who had devised a means of escaping and sought to leave with you (as he figured running through quite a bit of mountains all alone would be a purely foolish idea...), and after recovering your things (made difficult by an encounter with some very nasty spiders) you made your way out of the encampment, promising to the other captured people that you would return for them with help. It wasn't long after you left the encampment before you heard the goblins following behind you, and without the help of some kind aaracockra (who were happy to alleviate you of a nice ruby...) you likely would have been caught before you made it out of the mountains. Still, when you made it safely inside the walls of Ganor, you could see the goblins still coming after you, and your dismay turned to despair as the ettin made his presence known. While Darras took a dozen of Lord Dramiis' horses southward to Darna, the rest of you defended against the goblin threat and even managed to defeat the ettin, though not before he had punched a hole through the outer wall. Their biggest weapon killed, the goblins fleed back to their camp to regroup. Meanwhile Darras learned of the affairs troubling the Kingdom of Ganthes at large. The king himself remarked upon a three sided war that he was quickly losing ground and feared the worst. The king reluctantly gave Darras a dozen soldiers to bring to Ganor, with the promise to bring them safely south to Ockam where pirates were already looting. Upon Darras' return, you headed into the mountains with a couple of the soldiers (leaving the rest behind to guard the town's broken wall), to rescue the remaining townspeople, and to eliminate at long last the goblin threat. The goblins were well protected and put up a stern opposition, and it didn't help much when one of your group, Lily, disappeared in the fray. You were almost ready to leave her behind except she returned suddenly with the goblin chief's head skewered. Her first proven victory, she was proud beyond words. The rest of the goblins were eager to surrender and you were soon on your way home, with the spoils of a goblin camp and the crowd enough to make you heroes. The story didn't end there though. Without wasting time, you were on your way south to Ockam, and it wasn't much longer before the throng of refugees began to cloud the roads, making it very difficult to travel. Stopping briefly in Darras's home town, Darras finally got a chance to find out more news and his family was kind enough to refill your packs before heading onward. Continuing south, the refugees soon became fewer, but the sight of black clouds of smoke in the south made you wonder if the village of Ockam was in fact around any longer. You soon came upon the bulk of the Ganthesian army and as night encroached, you learned that pirates were not the oppositional force at this end, but rather the organized army of Billik. The commander of the army bade you tell King Ganthes the news by leaving early in the morning, but after being forced to leave in the middle of the night, you were shoved onward and you watched the Ganthesian army be crushed in the middle of the night. Ganthes did not take the word of his army's defeat well. Desperate and fearful of his death, he asked you one last favor: to head to the Kingdom of the Ocean and get help. You did his bidding but when you arrived you only arrived to find out the Kingdom of the Ocean would refuse any requests for help and it was only by chance you were allowed into the kingdom at all. With the help of a man who evaded identification early on (he later turned out to be the direct descendant of the current king, and heir to the throne), you made it ashore. The king there told you of the reason for Ganthes's loss of his country, and with a heavy heart, you returned to your home country. But King Ganthes never did get the word of your return. Coming up on the city of Darna, you saw the encroaching clouds of a violent storm above, coalescing in a spiral of strength unknown. In the near-darkness of mid-day, you saw that Darna was surrounded by the Billikan army. You watched as the storm, obviously wrought by the magic of the Billikan army, tore apart Darna, and left it completely asunder. The army broke into several directions, north-west to Ganor, north-east to the Nizzian forest and the north-eastern border, and east, south-east to establish the border with the Empire of Arak. Searching among the ruins, you discovered vague phantoms of the people who once lived there, as well as an encapsulated vision into the hours before Ganthes's destruction. You conversed briefly with the spectres before they themselves dissipated into nothing. The few bodies that you were able to uncover, you buried. Soon, however, you broke into two groups. One of the two groups headed to Ganor (Tomir and Lily), while the rest of you kept a promise to the sea-elven prince of the Ocean. You agreed to meet just outside of the Nizzian forest before moving on. Happy that Lord Dramiis was in a good position within the newly established borders of the Billikan country, Tomir and Lily met you several days later, and you headed into the Nizzian forest with the sea-elven prince. He thanked you profusely, shortly before you encountered a troll tearing apart at a couple of elves. They made an awful lot of noise, and with your help, the troll was soon defeated. In the after moments of the battle, after the elves had set the creature afire, they escorted you to the elvish city within the Nizzian forest. Your task finished there, you headed north-west, along the Angian river, heading towards the city of Alant with the Grand Duchy of Stac. Saving a few fisherman from a strange metallic snake was among your trials on the way, and it earned you a positive reputation as you made your way along the long riverside. In your last campaign, you were in search of the lost relics of the famous soldier, Veyna Coral. It was a long and arduous trip, once again bringing you within the Grey Peaks, but it was a trip well spent. You made the acquaintance of a very old and talkative stone giant as well as the acquaintance of some rather unfriendly ogres. But after that you were lucky enough the brave the challenges within the chambers of Veyna Coral. The challenges completed, you emerged with the legendary Sword of Veyna Coral and several other relics from his time. The story doesn't finish there however. Shortly after the conquest of the relics of Veyna Coral, you decided to break apart for a short time, and it wasn't until almost a year later, during the middle of a very harsh winter, that you come upon eachother again rather suddenly. There were many reasons why you had regrouped, as rumors of metallic snakes became more frequent, and the situation of the super-power of the Billikan Empire was becoming more and more oppressive. The trolls that had been giving the elves of the Nizzian Forest so much trouble had apparently grown increasingly more rampant, and the cold weather, especially bitter this year, seemed to only increase the death around you from disease. When you did finally regroup in Ganor, you received word that Keltas, your ever-devout follower of Dalitas, had gone on elsewhere, to pursue avenues less violent. His regrets were followed with the heavy news of the one true reason why you have all regrouped: Lord Dramiis was dead.
